Lesson Plans
Throughout the course of one semester, I created four different lesson plans which I presented to my class. This class helped me to improve my public speaking skills, improve my poise, and improve my creativity in presenting educational material to a variety of groups.
For my first micro-teaching, I was assigned to teach an in-service training for a dietetic related job of my choice. I decided to relate this teaching to one of my previous jobs working as a cook in an assisted living center. I created a diet instruction lesson plan aimed to educate an individual with a risk for heart disease how to make healthier decisions in their diet. I created a flip chart that I can use in my future career to explain the pathophysiology, rational, and modifications that help the individual further understand what entails in a heart healthy diet. My lesson plan is posted below.

For my final lesson plan, I worked with a classmate to create two 30 minute lesson plans on feeding toddlers and infants. We used various teaching methods such as Phillips 66, Graffiti, and Sorting to engage our audience and to approach this subject in a unique way. Our complied lesson plans, PowerPoints, and class handouts are provided below.
