Menu Modification
For this assignment, I selected three days from my menu planning project where I adjusted serving sizes and/or substituted food items to fit the needs of a 6'0", 185 pound, moderately active, 19 year old male. To analysis the information effectively, I became familiar with the program ESHA where I was able to assess the menu's calories per day, macronutrient distribution, as well as the RDAs or AIs for fiber and critical vitamins and minerals. After modifying the menu to this particular individual, I also modified the menu to an active, 19 year old male who is 6'0", 185 pounds with a need for a modified consistency. When altering a menu to a different consistency, I learned how important it is to improve the individual's appetite as much as possible to maintain a healthy weight.
